Steven J. Krause, 55, of Macungie, died July 15, 2017, at home. He was the husband of Pamela D. (Moll) Krause. They celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary in September. Born in Allentown, he was a son of Harold R. Krause and the late Mae C. (Diehl) Krause.

He owned and operated Krause Excavating for 28 years and previously worked for Stanley German Excavating Co., Ryder Trucks and Frey’s Auto Body.

He was a member of Huff’s Union Church.

He belonged to the Alburtis and Mertztown rod and gun clubs.

He is survived by his wife; father; daughter, Heather A. and her husband Michael J. Yates; stepson, Jonathan M. Moll; brothers, Pastor Nathan L. and his wife, Melissa; Andrew; two grandchildren, Logan J. and Madelyn J. Yates; nieces, Megan, Amanda, and Hannah; nephews, Shane and Daniel. He was predeceased by a brother, Howard K. in 2012.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. July 22, at Huff’s Union Church, 540 Conrad Road, Alburtis. Calling hours 9 to 11 a.m. in the church. Arrangements were made by the Schmoyer Funeral Home, Breinigsville.
