Richard J. “Butch” Evans, 74, of Bethlehem, died peacefully July 13, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Barbara (Hallowell) Evans for 51 years. Born in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late Paul and Anna (Bartholomew) Evans.
He was a graduate of William Allen High School, Class of 1961.
He worked at Bethlehem Steel for 33 years and was one of the last employees at the Steel before they closed their doors.
He was a member of the Found in the 60’s Car Club and enjoyed going to car shows and watching Nascar races.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Denise Yuppa, of Breinigsville and Michele and her husband Randy Bush, of Slatington; son, Richard M. and his wife Cynthia, of Bethlehem; siblings Warren and his wife Mary Lou, of Missouri, Donald and his wife Gail, of Bethlehem and Louise and her husband Bruce Stephens, of Bethlehem; grandchildren Colin Bush, Scott Yuppa, Tessa Huff, CJ Huff and Mason Huff.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. July 19 at the Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway, Fountain Hill, where the family will receive relatives and friends 10 a.m. until time of service.
