Helen G. Barbarics, 95, of Bethlehem died July 10, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hospice. Born in Hellertown, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Gubish and Magdalena Lazar Gubish. She was the wife of the late Ernest Barbarics.
She worked for the Bethlehem Steel, the U.S. Navy (in California) and for Hellertown Manufacturing until she took retirement, after which she worked part time at Rich Mar Florist and Muhlenberg Hospital.
She was an altar coordinator and was on the church council and the music and worship committee at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church for 22 years.
She was a member of the Poor Clares, and worked for two and one half years hand sewing the altar paraments for the Pentecost season.
She is survived by a son, Ernest and his wife Julie of Bethlehem; a daughter, Patricia and her husband Richard of Emmaus; four grandchildren, Mark of Bethlehem, Kristen of San Francisco, Victoria of Emmaus and Alexandra of Allentown; nieces; and nephews.
She was predeceased by five sisters, Annie, Mary, Grace, Irma and Agnes; and by five brothers, Lawrence, Peter, Joseph, Edward and William.
