God’s World
It truly is God’s world! I thank him every day, as I awake
And see the sun as nighttime rolls away.
When I arise each morning, there’s color everywhere;
The trees, the grass, the flowers, all swaying in the air,
The colors of the rainbow reflecting from the sun,
The vast blue sky, with wispy clouds, they float by one by one.
The shades of green are varied, and as you look around,
The yellows, reds, and purples are poking through the ground.
The time of year won’t matter; in summer, spring or fall,
Each season has its own array of colors to install.
The spring and summer fragrance of plants alive and well;
The artistry of autumn leaves casts its bewitching spell.
God shares his beauty every day, in winter’s starkness, too.
The hues convert to white from green as snow emerges on the scene.
Who said that white was boring - no color to be found?
There’s nothing quite as vivid as fresh snowfall on the ground.
It graces us in silence; it hushes all the land;
The peaceful calm that it instills is pure and simply grand.
As nighttime falls upon us, the landscape changes, too.
The brilliant moon, the glistening stars, all there for me and you.
The moon seduces us with charm, but it inflicts no harm;
Illuminescent white to orange, to incandescent yellow;
It’s no wonder we submit to feeling very mellow.
It truly is astounding to think of all we share; it’s free and doesn’t cost a cent to gaze in awe and stare, upon this world of elegance, we pass
through every day, until such time that God will come,
And take it all away!
