Whitehall library: Beading club meets Mondays and Fridays

Open to all teens and adults, Whitehall Township Public Library’s beading club meets 6:30 p.m. Mondays and 1 p.m. Fridays. Marty Beaton is donating supplies, so visitors and new members can try it out free of charge.

You don’t need to commit to every club meeting; just come as you will.

Bill Streeter, from Delaware Valley Raptor Center, will be at the library 6 p.m. July 25. He will have four or five birds of prey with him, including a golden eagle, peregrine falcon and an owl. You’ll spend a magical hour gaining a greater knowledge and appreciation of the raptors of the Northeast.

The raptor program is sponsored by Fellowship Community.

Our fourth Tuesday adult coloring club will meet 11 a.m. July 25. Anyone 18 years old and older is welcome to join us.

Can’t make it to the Tuesday coloring club? Come to our fourth Wednesday adult coloring club 6 p.m. July 26. This group also is for anyone 18 years old and older.

The library has some supplies but invites you to bring your own as well.

The “What Are You Reading Now?” book club meets 1 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of every month. The next date is July 25. Patrons are invited to chat about whatever books they are reading at the moment - the ones you loved, the ones you hated and everything in between.

Join us 6:30 p.m. Aug. 1 for Super Science & Amazing Art with Miss Cathy. Open to all ages, we’re going to be building better minds.

Brains will be under construction! Come explore with the program to find out how to build a better mind while having a blast.

Reminder: The last day to log books for the summer reading program for toddlers-grade 2 is 11:59 p.m. Aug. 1. The last day to log books for grades 3-12 is 11:59 p.m. Aug. 7.

At 5 p.m. Aug. 8, you will have a chance to meet some of the everyday heroes who keep us safe on a daily basis. Our guests will include Whitehall Township’s fire and police departments, Cetronia Ambulance Corps, Lehigh County’s deputy sheriff and local K-9 police. We will even have a MedEvac helicopter!

Join us in the picnic table area and parking lot of the library.

The finale day party will be 11 a.m. Aug. 12. This is for all of the children who have participated in the summer reading program.

Other programs to add to your calendar for August will be a visit from Bethlehem Mounted Police officers and their horses 5 p.m. Aug. 22. The officers will talk about training and working with the horses; they will tell us about their new stable that was built in Bethlehem, and you may be able to pet the horses, too!

Our third annual library block party will be 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 26. There will be food, popcorn, games, door prizes, free books, deejay Kelly spinning tunes and more. Come to the picnic table area for fun for all ages - kids and adults invited!
