Alice Pauline (Sweet) Birch, 90, formerly of Alburtis, died July 4, 2017, in St. Luke’s Hospice House. She was the wife of Warren J. Birch. They were married for 69 1/2 years. Born in Keene, N.H., she was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Halpin) Sweet.
She was a graduate of Keene High School, Keene, N.H., Bryant and Stratton Business School and Dresser Business School.
She retired from Prudential in 1992 as an insurance claims processor. Previously she worked for 15 years at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield.
She was a faithful member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, where she sang on the choir for many years.
She was active in the Heart & Home Quilters Guild, Kutztown and volunteered for the Center for Vision Loss.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Edward and his wife Donna, of Hayden, Idaho and William, of Emmaus; daughters, Kathleen and her husband Michael Keiser, of Carlisle and Susan and her husband Brian Buss, of Emmaus; brother, Edward Sweet, of Poway, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, William Sweet, of Enfield, N.H.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. July 15 in St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 1879 Applewood Dr., Orefield. Visitation 9 to 10 a.m. in the church. Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
