Northampton Area Food Bank is currently taking yearly and new registrations this month.

Approximately 900 people are currently being assisted by the food bank.

With the current economy and rising client numbers, donations don’t always meet the needs, according to food bank volunteers. To help offset the need, the food bank’s annual Christmas in July drive will be July 15 and 16 at Redner’s Warehouse Market on Held Drive.

Donations also can be sent to Northampton Area Food Bank, 1601 Canal St., Northampton, 18067 or dropped off 9:30 a.m.-noon Wednesdays.

The food bank also will be accepting any excess produce from local gardens 9:30 a.m.-noon Wednesdays.

For more information, visit northamptonareafoodbank.org.
