Brian M. Avila of Upper Macungie Township was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout during a Court of Honor March 26 at Bethany United Methodist Church, Allentown.
He was also recognized for earning a Bronze Palm at his Court of Honor.
Brian is a member of Troop 12, Allentown. Brian began his journey as a Tiger Cub with Troop 72. He earned his Arrow of Light and Heavy Shoulder award in March 2012 and shortly after transferred to Troop 12. Brian earned his Order of Arrow in 2014 and has earned 29 merit badges thus far.
Currently, he is serving as a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. For his Eagle project, Brian designed and landscaped a park entrance in Upper Macungie Township.
Brian, an honor roll student in his sophomore year at Parkland High School, is the son of Matt and Kristan Avila.
Brian plans on studying business management when he attends college in the next few years.
