Northampton: Philly museum trip is planned

Friends of Northampton Area Public Library will be running a bus trip to the new Museum of the American Revolution, Philadelphia, July 28. The cost includes admission to the museum, transportation and the driver’s tip.

Deadline to pay for your seat is July 6.

The St. John’s Friendly Fifties group will hold its annual picnic, rain or shine, noon-5 p.m. July 10 at the 26th Street Playground.

Northampton Area Public Library’s summer learning programs will revolve around the theme “Build a Better World.” A wide range of events accommodating teens (grades 6-12) will be held throughout the summer with the help of a generous grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.

Teens can register in person or online at northamptonapl.org. Some event highlights include:

July 10, 2 p.m., stop motion animation workshop

July 17, 2 p.m., altered book art

July 24, 2 p.m., build a Rube Goldberg machine

July 31, 2 p.m., Iron Chef/Chopped competition

Holy Trinity Nursery School, 1235 Main St., has a limited number of spaces available for the 2017-18 school year.

The 2-year-old playgroup class meets 9:30-11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Class size is limited to 12 children. Children do not need to be toilet trained for this class.

The 3-year-old class meets 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16 children. Children need to be toilet trained for this class.

The 4-year-old class meets 12:15-2:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16 children. Children need to be toilet trained for this class.

Children must turn the appropriate age for the class by Sept. 1.
