Josephine Kantz, 90, of Northampton, died June 18, 2017. She was the wife of the late Frank J. Kantz.

Born in Stockertown and raised in Reinersdorf, Austria, she was a daughter of the late John and Rose (Stoisits) Stangl.

She was a cook for many years for the former St. Joseph’s Society, Northampton, and later for St. Lawrence Rectory. She had worked at Universal Pants Factory, Northampton.

She was a member of Queenship of Mary Church and of its rosary society.

She was a member of Coplay Saengerbund.

She is survived by a son, Richard and his wife Vicky and their granddaughter Courtney Smith; a daughter, Susan and her husband Gerald Newhart Jr.; and three grandsons, Ryan, Nicholas and Christopher Newhart.

She was predeceased by a sister, Rosa; and a brother, John.
