DISTRICT COURT

Whitehall’s district court is open for the filing of new cases, payment for fines and costs and all other related business.

Some court hearings were rescheduled due to the June 5 death of Magisterial District Judge Robert Halal.

Senior magisterial district judges will be assigned on a rotating basis to preside over hearings in the district court. Senior Magisterial District Judge Patricia Warmkessel began her assignment June 12.

Pending an appointment by Gov. Tom Wolf to fill the vacancy, the next election for the magisterial district judge will be in 2019.
