Usha Kannan, 69, of Allentown, died May 8, 2017. She emigrated from India to the United States 50 years ago, in 1967, with her husband the late Dr. Vugranam C. Kannan. She and her husband first lived in California, where her husband received his doctorate from the University of California, and then moved to New Jersey, Ohio and Oregon, and finally settled in Pennsylvania in 1980.

She enjoyed knitting, making jewelry and collecting antiques.

She is survived by five sons and two daughters-in-law: Niranjan, of Arizona; Naresh (Rebecca), of New York; Bharat Raj, of Japan; Dev (Cynthia), of Allentown and Nikil, of New York; eight grandchildren: Nicole, Thomas, Luke and Nicholas (Dev and Cynthia); Rani, Gaia, Viktor and Margot (Naresh and Rebecca).

Private services for she and her late husband were held May 27. Arrangements were made by the Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, Allentown.
