Fullerton: St. Elizabeth’s plans parish festival

St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, Fullerton Avenue, will hold its annual parish festival 6-10 p.m. June 9 and 5-10 p.m. June 10 on the parish grounds. There will be lots of fun, food, drinks and games.

Activities for Friday evening include music by Lo & Behold Band and balloon entertainment. The Chaz Band, a magician and balloon entertainment are on Saturday’s lineup.

Come out and enjoy the big event!

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 835 Third St., will be holding its Vacation Bible School program June 19-23, with the closing program and lunch June 25. They meet each evening 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The theme this year is “Mighty Fortress.” Some of the Bible stories this year include the battle of Jericho, King Hezekiah and King Josiah, as well as Christ the King.

There will be snacks, songs, crafts and something special this year for the 500th Reformation - a Luther room, which includes learning about Martin Luther in “Truth Be Told.”

There will be classes for ages 3 to sixth grade, plus an adult class.

From 8:45 a.m.-noon June 26-30, St. Elizabeth’s will be having its Vacation Bible School titled “Maker Fun Factory, Created by God, Built for a Propose!”

The weeklong event is for children entering preschool through fifth grade in the fall.

Bring a lunch if you are helping with VBS that week, so you can eat before practice.

All students entering grades 5 to 8 in September are more than welcome to become altar servers. Training will be held 12:30-2 p.m. June 26-29. Plan on attending all four mandatory sessions to complete the training.
