St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 417 Howertown Road, would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to its new child care center director, Debra Hessinger, effective May 30.

Hessinger comes to St. Paul’s from The Goddard School, where she recently worked in marketing and has directed one of its centers in the past.

In addition to her work at The Goddard School, Hessinger, who has a degree in early childhood and elementary education from Kutztown University, brings a great deal of experience in nonprofit educational settings. She has directed the preschool at Project of Easton and managed Pre-K Counts classrooms for Lehigh Valley Children’s Centers.

In addition, Hessinger has been a classroom teacher at both St. Francis Day School and the St. John Neumann Regional School.

St. Paul’s Child Care Center is a ministry of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and has provided child care since 1959.

St. Mary’s Church, Second and Union streets, will be holding its annual block party 6-10 p.m. June 22-24. There will be homemade foods, bingo (in the air-conditioned hall), a bake sale, basket and money raffle, and games for adults and children.

Come by Friday night and enjoy the children’s lip sync contest and Saturday night for a chance to play the hourly game of Minute to Win It.

There will be deejay entertainment by D.H. Productions.
