Verona G. Bickert

Verona G. Bickert, 86, of Fullerton Village, Whitehall, died peacefully May 21, 2017, at home.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Leon J. and Grace (Davies) Schray,

She was the widow of Ernest L. Bickert who died in 1975.

A 1949 graduate of Allentown High School, she was the office administrator at Brookside County Club for more than 25 years until retiring.

She earlier worked in the office of Dr. Guy L. Kratzer.

An active member of St. John’s UCC Fullerton, she was a devoted member of the former Dubb’s UCC, Allentown, where she served on consistory, was Sunday School superintendent, was a member of the adult class, and was very active in baking and cooking fundraisers for the church.

She loved to paint with oils, make delicious candy and was an avid reader.

Her survivors include a daughter Kathy Thomas and her husband, Jesse J. Riddick; granddaughter Jessica and her companion Ronald Ward; great-grandson Jesiah; sisters Ora “Dolly” Kramlich, Esther Meyers and husband, Donald, Sally Heffner and husband, Thomas; brothers Robert Schray and wife, Renee, Sheldon Schray and wife, Carol; and a large extended family.

She was predeceased by her brother-in-law Richard “Dick” Kramlich.
