Dorothy S. Smith, 89, of Allentown, died on May 25, 2017, in her home.

She was the wife of the late Stanley W. Smith.

Born Oct. 4, 1927, in Lenhartsville, she was the daughter of the late Carroll W. and Bertha N. (Fields) Kline.

A 1945 graduate of the former Slatington High School, she held various jobs over the years in addition to being a wonderful homemaker and mother.

Most notably, she worked at the former Leh’s, Whitehall, and Dougherty’s Pharmacy, Egypt, before retiring.

She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Northampton, where she sang with the choir for many years.

Her survivors include children Kit L. Smith, Mark C. Smith and Roderick D. Smith (Victoria) all of Allentown, Holly M. Olenwine (Terry), and Rhonda J. Santilli (Gabriel), all of Schnecksville; sister Anna Strunk (Russell) of Kempton; and grandchildren Cody, Katrina, Marissa, Jared and Max.

She was predeceased by a son, Collin C. Smith, and a sister, Florence Hauser.
