Carolyn M. Rupp

Carolyn M. Rupp, 92, formerly of Germansville, died peacefully, May 24, 2017, surrounded by her loving family in Cedarbrook Nursing Home, South Whitehall.

She was the wife of the late George S. Rupp.

Born June 24, 1924, in Weisenberg Township, she was the daughter of the late Nevin and Hilda Mae (Holben) Holben.

She was employed in the laundry department at Cedarbrook, South Whitehall, for many years before retiring in 1985. Previously, she worked at Kraft Foods.

A member of Morgenland Church, Orefield, she formerly served as Sunday School superintendent and teacher in the primary department.

She was a member of the Goodwill Fire Co. No. 1, Germansville, and a former member of Daughters of America, Blue Ridge Council 179, New Tripoli.

She enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting, having won many awards at the Schnecksville Fair and The Great Allentown Fair.

She and her late companion, Paul, spent many weekends at Bear Creek and took many road trips with their camper.

She cherished all the time she spent with her family, especially doting on the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Every meal she prepared for her family was extra special, even if it was only her homemade sauerkraut and mashed potatoes.

Her family meant the world to her and she will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

Her survivors include children Sue E. Fink and her husband, Charles, of Germansville, James S. Rupp and his wife, Michele, of State College, Timothy N. Rupp of Philipsburg; grandchildren Amy Bodnar, Lori Barton, Nathan Rupp, Gretchen Golden, Lindsay Brown, Jaime Summers, and Mason and Whitey Sokol; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by sons John W. and David G. Rupp; siblings Sterling Holben, Betty Ruch and Dorothea Dotterer; and companion Paul Benner.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. June 1, Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, with the Rev. Sally D. Zelker officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 10-11 a.m. Thursday in the church narthex.

Interment will follow the service in the adjacent church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church memorial fund c/o the funeral home, P.O. Box 196, Schnecksville, PA 18078-0196.
