Robert J. Humenik, Sr., 71, of Macungie, died May 26, 2017, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Diane M. (LaMastro) Humenik. They would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary this August. Born in Jersey City, N.J., he was a son of the late John J. and Emma P. (Miko) Humenik.

He was a graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Class of 1967. He was employed by Air Products from 1979 to 2010, retiring as a senior machinery engineer. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. He enjoyed the ocean, boating and walking on the beach and creating beautiful setups for his model trains, which he loved showing to his grandsons.

He was an avid reader, and had interests in fishing and golf.

He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, Orefield.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Robert J. Jr. and his wife Jennifer, of Beacon, N.Y. and Stephen Michael, Esquire and his wife Neda, of Vienna, Va.; daughter, Dr. Amy Lynn and her husband Jesse Saborsky, of Coopersburg; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Jahangir, Jacob, Noah Robert and William; sister, Carol S. and her husband Glenn Johnson, of Sayreville, N.J.

Contributions may be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105, c/o the funeral home.
