Joseph S. Heidenwolf

Joseph S. Heidenwolf, 88, of Fullerton, died May 22, 2017. He was the husband of Maria Heidenwolf for 62 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Joseph and Stella (Seier) Heidenwolf.

He attended Sacred Heart Elementary School, Central Catholic High School and Allentown Business School.

He was in the U.S. Army and was sent to Berlin. In 1950, he re-enlisted in Btry. B, 213th AAA Gun Bn. PA. National Guard and returned to 21 months of active duty, including time in Korea. He was honorably discharged as CPT in 1972 with 27 years of service.

He was a supervisor in the operations department of MIS for Mack Trucks and retired in 1987 after 30 years of employment.

He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, Fullerton.

He volunteered with various civic and military organizations. He was a member and officer of the former Allgemeiner Club and the Austrian/Hungarian Veterans Association. He was a past president of Lehigh Valley Chapter of MOAA, a past officer of the 213th Regiment and a past staff member and MC of Tobyhanna Army Depot RSO. He currently was involved with the upkeep of the 213th Regimental museum.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Joseph A. and his wife Mary E. and John of Allentown; three daughters, Sylvia Seltzer and her husband Glen of Allentown, Cynthia Wise of Whitehall and Mary A. Niles and her husband Ray of Jacksonville, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, Albert.
