Frank J. Bendl Jr., 93, of Bath, died May 22, 2017, in his home. He was the husband of Irene (Horvath) Bendl for 70 years.
Born in Nazareth, he was a son of the late Frank and Theresia (Didovits) Bendl.
He was in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
He was a welder at the former Penn Dixie Cement Company, Nazareth, for many years.
He was a member of Holy Family Church, Nazareth.
He was a 50-year member of Knights of Columbus Council 4282, Nazareth.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Barbara Bendl; two grandsons, Peter and Michael Reilly; a great-granddaughter, Olivia Reilly; four brothers, Walter and his wife Theresa, Alfred, William and Frederick and his wife Joan; and two sisters, Helen and her husband Richard Boris and Theresa Keeler.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Hilda Bendl and Anna Temmel.
