Troy A. Gilbert, 51, of Macungie, died peacefully May 17, 2017, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Robert A. and Dorothea M. (Helfrich) Gilbert.

He was a 1984 graduate of Emmaus High School. He was a route salesman for various companies.

He was an avid and dedicated fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Penguins. He was an expert dart shooter and was inducted into the Trexlertown Hall of Fame for softball.

He is survived by his parents; sister, Amy G. and her husband Dennis Flynn, along with their children Riley and Jacob; uncle, Harold “Sonny” Helfrich and his wife Mary; extended family members.

Services will be held 3 p.m. May 25, in the Schmoyer Funeral Home, 8926 Brookdale Road, Breinigsville, 18031. A viewing will begin 2 p.m.
