Chelsey M. Ossiander, 24, of Allentown, died in her home May 16, 2017. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of Grace A. (Clark) Ossiander and the late Brian F. Ossiander.
She was a graduate of Emmaus High School, Class of 2011, and a graduate of Arcadia University, Class of 2015, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in studio art.
She worked passionately as a para-professional in the K-12 school systems. Her unwavering passion for community service to the elderly and those with special needs was the cornerstone of her life. She excelled in the arts, following in the footsteps of her grandfather and father.
She had a way of always beautifying the world that she helped to create. She was an outspoken advocate for mental health support and awareness.
She is survived by her mother; brother, Matthew S. and his partner Jason, of Bethlehem; beloved boyfriend, Timothy Tassone, of Allentown; paternal grandmother, Gail, of Fountain Hill; step-grandmother, Cindy Dunne, of Pacific Palisades, Calif; step-grandmother, Carol Voorhees, of Allentown; many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
Contributions may be made to the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAM) or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).
Private services to be announced at a later date. Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
