James Edward Murphy III, 54, of Allentown and formerly of Lehigh Township, died May 17, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown.

Born in Rockville Centre, N.Y., he was a son of Maribeth (Forster) Murphy and the late James Murphy Jr.

He was a contractor for many years in the Lehigh Valley and Pocono areas. He was earlier a chef in New Jersey.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Joseph J. Murphy of Florida; two brothers, Sean M. Murphy and Colin S. Murphy and his wife Tiffany, both of Lehigh Township; and two grandchildren.
