Author Kate Brandes will give talk at township library

An author talk will be given 6:30 p.m. May 25 by Kate Brandes, who wrote “The Promise of Pierson Orchard.”

Something about the book: Family tensions heat up in small-town Pennsylvania when threatened by financial strife, unfulfilled love and fracking.

About the author: Brandes has worked as a geologist and environmental scientist for 20 years. Currently, she’s focused on improving local ecology using native plants in small public and residential gardens in addition to her work as an author and artist.

For more information, call the library.
