L.V. Academy Regional: Charter renewed
The Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter School’s charter has been renewed for the terms of January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2021 without enrollment caps.
Pennsylvania Charter School law requires charter schools to participate in a charter renewal process every five years with its chartering school districts; which in LVA’s case, are both the Bethlehem Area School District and Saucon Valley School District.
The charter approval process stalled in December 2016, due to the inclusion of enrollment caps in the charter approved by the BASD board of directors. In January 2017, SVSD and LVA approved and executed a charter agreement that did not include any enrollment caps.
The Middle States Association approved the LVA’s mid-term report and authorized LVA as a MSA accredited school through 2021.
