Robert L. Kern Sr., 78, of Bethlehem Township, died May 9, 2017, in his home. Born in Easton, he was a son of the late Raymond F. Kern and late Cula Annamae (Fehr) Kern. He was the husband of Mary Ann Kern (Horvath) for 58 years.

He was a 1956 graduate of Liberty HS.

He was in the United States Navy.

He was a painter and welder at Mack Trucks.

He was a member of Ebenezer Bible Fellowship Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Robert L. Jr. and his wife Joanne, Glenn A. and his wife Wendi and Gary W.; five grandchildren, Stephanie Gower and Gregg and Andrew, Aaron and Kelly Kern; four great-grandchildren, Dakotah and Skyelar Horack, Boston Gower and Kylie Kern; and a half-sister, Geneva Kotze.

He was predeceased by several half-brothers and half-sisters.
