Student earns Master’s degree

Miami Univ

Jamie Dawson of Schnecksville earned a Master of Arts degree through Project Dragonfly’s Global Field Program at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.

Since being accepted to the GFP master’s degree in 2012, Dawson has explored conservation and education in Belize, Borneo and Kenya, while also conducting projects that have made a difference in the Schnecksville area.

Dawson is director of the Youth Services Agency Nature Center.

The global courses, which count toward the GFP Master’s or can be taken for stand-alone graduate credit, are designed for educators and other professionals from all disciplines and settings interested in making a difference in human and ecological communities.

Because the degree occurs overseas and in web-based learning communities, applicants can be located anywhere in the United States or abroad.

Project Dragonfly reaches millions of people each year through inquiry-driven learning media, public exhibits and graduate programs worldwide.

Dragonfly is based in the department of biology at Miami University.
