Ella A. Nottle, 81, of Whitehall Township, died peacefully April 30, 2017.
She was the wife of Wayne R. Nottle for almost 61 years.
Born in Nazareth, she was the only child of the late Clayton and Evelyn (Meyers) Messinger.
A 1953 graduate of Nazareth Area High School, she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in sociology from Moravian College in 1957.
She worked for the YWCA in Chester, the Girls Scouts in Allentown, was co-proprietor of the former Nottle’s Diner, J.C. Penney camera department, and was a sales representative for L’eggs products.
The most important part of her life was caring for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She enjoyed collecting lighthouses, snowmen and Santa Claus collectibles.
She and her husband were dedicated Penn State football fans for more than 23 years, traveling to most home games, and across the country to away venues.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters Sharon Kulp of Whitehall, and Beth Elchook and her husband, James, of Apex, N.C.; grandchildren Stephanie Batdorf and her companion, Scott Schmoyer. of Schnecksville, Veronica Kulp of Allentown, Alyssa, wife of Justin Wisdom, of Raeford, N.C., and Samantha Elchook and her fiancé, Chris Lublinkhof, of Cary, N.C.; and great-grandchildren Rylee, Peyton and Aiden.
