Eleanor G. Crothers, 92, of B’nai B’rith Apartments, Allentown, formerly of Whitehall, died peacefully May 4, 2017, at home.
She and her husband Charles F. “Chats” Crothers were married 63 years at the time of his death in 2009.
Born during a snowstorm in North Catasauqua, Dr. Trexler arrived in a horse-drawn sled to deliver her.
She was the only child of the late Bruno and Evelyn (Jones) Haake.
A 1942 graduate of Whitehall High School, she was a member of the National Honor Society.
She retired from Sears Roebuck in 1988. Her No. 1 passion was her devotion to the Philadelphia Phillies for more than 70 years. Win or lose, she stuck by them.
Her survivors include a daughter Faye Koncsics (Albert) of Allentown; sons Barry (Sharon) of Edina, Minn., Kevin (Kathy) of Circle Pines, Minn., Scott of Center Valley, and David (Kristine) of Gainesville, Fla.; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. May 25 in Fairview Cemetery, Lehigh St., Whitehall, PA 18052, with the Rev. Dr. Becky J. Beckwith officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
