Salisbury Middle School chorus and band will perform their spring concert 7 p.m. May 11 in the middle school cafeteria.

May 12 will be a 1 p.m. dismissal for both Harry S Truman and Western Salisbury elementary schools. The middle and high schools dismiss at regular time.

The senior prom will be held at the Bethlehem SteelStacks this year 6 p.m. May 13.

The Pennsylvania System of School Assessments are over, so now it is time for the Keystone exams. The assessment for algebra 1 is May 15 and 16, the biology test is May 17 and 18 and the literature test is May 19 and 22. Your student would have received information if they are scheduled to take any of the tests.

The time schedule at the high school is always fun. On the days your student is taking a test, they will report at regular time. On the days your student is not testing, they will report two and a half hours late May 15 and 2 hours late May 16 through 22. Busing is available at both start times.

Eighth graders currently taking algebra 1 will take the algebra Keystone at the middle school during normal school hours.

WSE has a lot going on.

There is a new family registration 9:30 to 11 a.m. May 17.

May 19 starts with Leadership Day 1:30 to 3 p.m. Parents and members of the community are invited to tour the school as our students showcase their leadership skills. Then in the evening is the PTA Color-a-thon 6:30 p.m. followed by the Spring Fling.

Field day at WSE for students in grades three, four and five is scheduled 1:30 p.m. May 22.

Also on May 22, the last Coffee and Conversation with our administrators for the year is scheduled 6 to 6:45 p.m. followed by a curriculum and technology committee meeting 7 p.m. at the administration building. If you are planning on attending the Coffee and Conversation, RSVP to 610-797-2062, ext. 1000.

The annual HST and WSE combined band concert will be held 7 p.m. May 23 at HST.

Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church will hold their community breakfast May 13. This breakfast will be in honor of mothers and fathers. Special items on the menu, in addition to the regular items, include eggs Benedict casserole, cheesesteak omelets, cinnamon swirl French toast and lavender scones. Doors are open 8 to 11 a.m.

Donations are accepted and all proceeds will go to the Lehigh County Fund to Benefit Children and Youth. Also remember this will be the last breakfast until September; enjoy it before they are gone for the summer.

The Devonshire drop-off will be open May 16 and 20. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The township drop-off centers will accept grass clippings again.
