Donald Edwin Roth, 82, of Macungie, died May 4, 2017 in his home. He was the husband of Nancy C. (Vallone) Roth. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Ralph and Pauline A. (Long) Roth.
He started his career with P.A. Freeman in Allentown as a vice president and salesperson. Later, he became a certified gemologist and CEO for Robert Fisher Co., Newark, NJ and A. Jaffe & Sons in New York City. He was a 1952 graduate of Allentown High School and was a paratrooper in the United States Army.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and carpentry. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Emmaus.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, David B. and his wife Connie, of Fanwood, N.J.; daughter, Kathy A. Genoe and her husband James, of Macungie; siblings, Kenneth, and Beverly Sperling; grandchildren, Christina and her fiancé Paul Kirkpatrick, Michael, and Helen Genoe; and sister-in-law, Rosemary Shaffer.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church at 415 S. 6th Street, Emmaus, 18049
