Bruce C. Reiss, 80, of Emmaus, died May 3, 2017 in Lehigh Valley Inpatient Hospice. He was the husband of Leanna H. (Bittenbender) Reiss. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Henry M. and Ruth S. (Sallade) Reiss.

He worked as a equipment operator for the Borough of Emmaus for many years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Emmaus. He was a life member of Fire Company #1, former firefighter for Emmaus Volunteer Fire Department and volunteered for the Emmaus Ambulance Corps.

He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Douglas and his wife Lori, John and his wife Tammy, Jeffrey, and Richard and his wife Susan, all of Emmaus; brothers, Robert and David, of Emmaus; sisters, Ethel Boyer, of Seisholtzville and Susan Craddock, of Allentown; grandchildren, Garrett, Kyle, Katie and Chelsea; great grandchildren, Shiann, Izabella and Caleb.

He was predeceased by sisters, Shirley and Gloria.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus, 18049 or to the Emmaus Ambulance Corps., 100 N. 6th St., Emmaus, 18049.
