Hellertown woman recognized
Brittany Onesto, a psychology major from Hellertown, was honored with the Siena College academic athlete award for outstanding academic achievement.
Local KU student receives award
Zachary Lawlor of Bethlehem received the outstanding student award from the Delaware Valley Geographical Association at Kutztown University. The senior, who is studying applied geography, mapped the storm water network of Emmaus for his internship project. Lawlor mapped violent crime rates in the city of Philadelphia and then correlated the crimes with different neighborhood characteristics. for his undergraduate thesis.
Locals inducted into honor societies
Beta Gamma Sigma
Dominic Santanasto and Rachel Pardoe, both of Bethlehem and students of Saint Joseph’s University’s Haub School of Business, were inducted into the national business honor society, Beta Gamma Sigma, during the spring 2017 semester.
Phi Beta Kappa
Jennifer Schadt and Maria Spirk, both of Bethlehem, will be inducted in to Phi Beta Kappa national liberal arts and sciences honor society on May 17 at Saint Joseph’s University.
Sigma Delta Pi
Nektaria Papadopoulos, of Bethlehem, was inducted into the Kutztown University chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, the national collegiate Hispanic honor society.
