John “Johnny Dee” R. Domitrovits, 88, of Whitehall, died April 12, 2017, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. He was the husband of the late Marie L. (Hammer) Domitrovits.

Born in Stiles, he was a son of the late John E. and Gisella (Hacker) Domitrovits.

He was in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a machine operator for 32 years for General Electric until he retired in 1985.

He founded the Johnny Dee Orchestra in 1954, from which he retired in January of 2014.

He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Coplay.

He was a member of the Coplay Saengerbund.

He is survived by a son, John A. of Whitehall; a brother, Joe and his wife Geraldine Domitrovits of Northampton; two sisters Elsie Mondschein and Margaret Petrasovits, both of Coplay; and three grandchildren, Kristi Domitrovits of Northampton and Adam and Kari Domitrovits of New Jersey.

He was predeceased by a son, David.
