FALCON INSIDER

Students from Salisbury High School traveled to Saucon Valley High School to compete against Pennridge High School in their final debate of the year.

SHS was on the affirmative team, while Pennridge High School was on the negative team, for this year’s resolve, “The United States should implement a DNA database for all criminal suspects.” Each team is required to give two speeches, question the other team two times and write and present one rebuttal. The individual debate teams can have a maximum of four members; however, they can have less than four members.

This years final debate team included Benjamin Wiener, Nathan Reed and Alan Lovelidge. Congratulations to the debate team who won the final debate 3-0. Not only did the team win the finals, but they also won the regular LVIDA season and the semi-finals.

Scholastic Scrimmage also won their semifinal against Emmas High School. The team won 215-145 and will now head to the finals. The team consisted of Owen Mendes, Benjamin Wiener, Nathan Reed and Jacob Glenister with their advisors Mr. Pacitti and Mr. Koba. This is the first title the team has won since 1977. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Mason Groff and John Yurconic who played for the District XI Class 2A championship in Winning Torch, Allentown.
