Marion R. Forrest

Marion R. (Christ) Forrest, of Allentown, formerly of Emmaus, died April 18, 2017. She was the wife of the late William L. Forrest. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of Frieda (Bader) and J. Raymond Christ.

She was a graduate of Liberty High School where she was the Salutatorian of her class. She attended Moravian College and was a graduate of Kutztown University.

She served as Latin teacher/librarian at Matamoras High School, then as children’s librarian at the Bethlehem Public Library.

She volunteered as a Gray Lady for the Red Cross at the Allentown Osteopathic Medical Center.

She was elected to the Emmaus Library Board and became volunteer director of the library.

She was appointed to the Emmaus Arts Commission at its inception in 1985, and was the 1992 recipient of BPW’s Nike Award for service to the community.

She was a charter member of Faith Presbyterian Church, Emmaus, where she was active in Church School, Women’s Circle and Session.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters.
