James Bausman
James Warren Bausman, 91, of Macungie, died peacefully at home April 18, 2017, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Patricia Bausman. They were married for 64 years. Born at home on the family farm in Bausman, he was a son of the late Franklin (Warren) and Mary (Hoffman) Bausman.
He was educated at William Allen High School (1943) and Lehigh University (1948) where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, 1943-1946
He had a long career in business and finance beginning with Trojan Powder Company before joining E. F. Hutton and then Merrill Lynch, in 1959, where he enjoyed a 50-year career, retiring in 2009.
He faithfully served his community of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, of Trexlertown, which he helped establish as a mission church in 1966 and served on the vestry for many years. A lifelong Episcopalian, he served as a Diocesan Trustee for 30 consecutive years, a director of Episcopal House in Allentown for 25 years and was board president in 1973 and 1974. He also served as a director of Episcopal Apartments of the Slate Belt for 20 years, from 1982 to 2002. He was appointed to the Cooperative Housing Organization of the National Episcopal Church.
He was an active member of the Sertoma Club of Allentown, Masonic Lodge, Chamber of Commerce and The Trexlertown Grange, where he served as master from 1980 to 1996. He was director of the Lehigh County Housing Authority in 1997.
He is survived by his wife; five children, Eric and his wife Julie, of Broomall; Karla and Karen, both of New York City; Andrew and his wife Ann, of Arlington, Mass.; Paige, of Tucson, grandchildren, Erika, Caleb and Parker; great-granddaughters, Mila and Cindy Mae.
