Edward W. “Nookie” Steager

Edward W. “Nookie” Steager, 76, of Old Zionsville, died April 11, 2017, in his home surrounded by loved ones. He was the husband of Debra E. (Eisenhard) Steager. They were married for 30 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Kenneth S.E. and Beulah C. (Hunsicker) Steager.

He worked as a Mac Tool distributor for 13 years, retiring in 2004. Previously he worked as the bar manager for the former Gerhart’s Bar and Restaurant and was a welder.

He was a past president of the Upper Milford Western District Fire Company.

He is survived by his wife; son, Terry and his wife Kim, of Holiday, Fla.; daughters, Tammy and her husband Alan Danner, of Laury’s Station and Crystal and her husband Keith Walker, of Macungie; brothers, Richard and his wife Terry, of Emmaus and Donald, of Laury’s Station; sister, Patricia and her husband Elwood Bittner, of Allentown; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Timothy and a brother, Kenneth Jr.

Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
