Edward J. Holaska, 66, of Catasauqua, died April 18, 2017, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Gale (Erney) Holaska.

Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Paul T. and Dorothy B. (Farley) Holaska.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was an operating engineer for Agere for more than 32 years. He was a school bus driver for more than 12 years.

He was a member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church, North Catasauqua.

He was a former Catasauqua Borough Council member.

He was a member of the Catasauqua American Legion Post 215. He was a founder of the Catasauqua Chapter of the American Legion Riders.

He was a volunteer for the Catasauqua Fire Company for more than 50 years. He was a member of the Southwark Fire Company social club and a lifetime member of the Fullerton Fire Company social club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Alicia and her husband Steven Hagenbuch of Allentown and Annette and her husband Kenny Funk of Catasauqua; a stepson, Sean and his wife Anne Erney of Northampton; a brother, Paul and his wife Dorothy Holaska of North Catasauqua; and three grandchildren, Paige, Gavin and Lila.

He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy.
