Catasauqua: HCPA walking tour focuses on Bridge St. homes, mansions
Historic Catasauqua Preservation Association (HCPA) is sponsoring a historic walking tour of the mansions and homes of Bridge Street tonight, April 27.
If interested, meet at the public library, Third and Bridge streets, 5 p.m. for the tour.
After the tour, there will be refreshments at the library and hands-on research of Catasauqua history through the Internet.
There is a cost; cash or check, made out to HCPA, will be accepted. Credit payment via Square will also be available.

There will be various tours of Historic Catasauqua throughout the summer.

The May meeting of the Catasauqua Garden Club is scheduled for 1 p.m. May 3.
Pennsylvania master gardeners Kathy Halpert and Louise Melcher will present “Shady Secrets” - learning how to grow beautiful plants in a shady garden.
The meeting will take place at the Slovak Center Social Club, 1223 Fifth St., North Catasauqua.
Members with items for judging should have their items set up early.
Garden-friendly folks are invited to share in the fun and growing experiences.
Plans for the annual plant sale May 13 at the Catasauqua Public Library will be finalized.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church drive-through chicken dinner tickets are now on sale.
The dinner is fully prepared by Fairview Catering. All you have to do is purchase your tickets in advance and drive up to the church parking lot, 122 W. Union St., May 12.
Each dinner includes half of a chicken, baked potato, corn on the cob, cole slaw and roll and butter.

Catasauqua American Legion Post 215, 330 Second St., will now hold cash bingo every Wednesday evening.
Doors open 5:30 p.m., and bingo begins 7 p.m.
There will be 22 regular games, specials, 50/50 and two jackpots.
The kitchen will be open for food and drink.
