Barbara B. Gerken, 80, died peacefully surrounded by her family.

Born in Teaneck N.J., she was the daughter of the late Theodore J. and Matilda (Dietz) Gerken.

An active member of Nativity Lutheran Church, Allentown, she was a member of church council and Sisters in Spirit.

She was broker and owner of Shamrock Realty and Appraisal Service, Trexlertown.

She will be remembered as a strong, independent, caring woman who loved her family, friends, work, church and country line dancing.

Her survivors include children Kim, wife of David Brown of New Tripoli, Gary M. of Littleton, Colo. and Michele D., wife of Tim Shoudt of Allentown; grandchildren Dustin, Cameron and Ian; brother Eric Gerken and wife, Janet, of Missouri.

She was predeceased by her brother Ted.
