Kimberly A. Sando, 53, of Lower Macungie Township, died April 14, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of Douglas R. Burrell. They would have celebrated 10 years of marriage Aug. 4. Born in Center Moriches, N.Y., she was the daughter of Charles J. and Anna M. (Biolsi) Kanige, of Melbourne, Fla.
She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown.
She earned a master’s degree from Drexel University in 1987 and received her bachelor’s degree form East Stroudsburg University in 1985.
She was the librarian at DeSales University for the last 11 years and previously held the position of librarian at Ursinus College in Collegeville for 15 years.
She is survived by her husband; parents; son, Harrison H. and his father, Michael; brother, Jeffrey Kanige; sister, Lee A. Pelosi; faithful companion, Nittany.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3893 Adler Place, Suite 170, Bethlehem, 18017.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. April 21 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexer Ave., Allentown. A visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. April 20 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th & Hamilton streets, Allentown.
