Joan E. Solt, 81, formerly of Macungie, died April 3, 2017, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Richard W. Solt. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Ethel (Lichtenwalner) Knauss.

Before retiring, she worked in customer service at Aetna insurance and most recently in the jewelry department at Kohl’s.

She was a member of St. Paul’s U.C.C., Trexlertown.

She loved going to the beach and being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Richard Shurgalla and his wife Sharon, of State College, daughters, Donna Conway, of Macungie, Debra and her husband Jose Figueroa, of Bethlehem, daughter-in-law, Karen Shurgalla, stepdaughters, Cheryl and her husband Jeff Crammer, of Whitehall, Bonnie and her husband Dave Prunty, of Freeville, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Betty and son, Robert.
