John Matthew Humenik, 67, died April 5, 2017, at his residence in Whitehall.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late John and Helen (Bonshak) Humenik.

He was a 1972 graduate of Kutztown State College.

He was a Northampton Middle School teacher for more than 30 years until he retired in 2005.

He is survived by two brothers, David A. Humenik of Northampton and Paul J. and his wife Susan of Slatington; two nephews, Paul A. and Craig Humenik; a niece, Angela and her husband Timothy Cougle; a great-niece, Adalei; and a great-nephew, Timothy K.
