Hundreds of brightly colored plastic eggs filled with jelly beans will cover the spacious green lawn Saturday of St. Peter’s Catholic Church grounds, Fifth Center streets, as Coplay Recreation & Welfare Association holds its community Easter egg hunt for borough children - a tradition spanning more than six decades.
The event begins promptly at 1 p.m. with the siren of the police vehicle, as swarms of children scamper for the plastic eggs, some with numbers to denote prize eggs.
The children will be divided in age groups: 0-2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8. There are 10 prize eggs in each age category.
Following the egg hunt, each child will receive a special Easter treat from the association.
Making his annual appearance and posing for photos will be Roger Rabbit.
