Back in State:For the first time since 2004, Olivia Newton-John, above, returns to the State Theatre Center for the Arts, Easton, for a concert, 7:30 p.m. April 13. Newton-John’s 1973 debut album, “Let Me Be There,” produced her first Top 10 single. She’s had 10 No. 1 hits, including “Physical,” which topped the charts for 10 straight weeks, and more than 15 Top 10 singles. In 1978, her co-starring role with John Travolta in the movie, “Grease,” and its best-selling soundtrack featured the duets, “You’re The One That I Want” and “Summer Nights,” with Travolta, and her hit, “Hopelessly Devoted To You.” Her personal triumph against breast cancer led her to found the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in her hometown, Melbourne, Australia. Concert “Thread”:Rosanne Cash, above, features music from her acclaimed 2014 album, “The River & the Thread,” in her concert, 7 p.m. April 8, State Theatre Center for the Arts, Easton. “The River & the Thread” includes 11 original songs written by Cash and her longtime collaborator and husband, John Leventhal, the album’s producer, arranger and guitarist. Cash is a four-time Grammy Award recipient, including three for “The River & the Thread”: Best Americana Album, Best American Roots Song and Best American Roots Performance (“A Feather’s Not A Bird”). Cash, who’s in the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, has 15 albums and charted 21 Top 40 country singles, 11 of which were No. 1.
