Edward T. Saba
Edward T. Saba, 92, of Allentown, died April 1, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Rosalyn M. (Sadd) Saba with whom he shared 65 years of marriage. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Tanas and Sophia (Plikiades) Saba.
He was a 1942 graduate of Shaw High School, Cleveland, Ohio and a 1949 electrical engineering graduate of Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana.
He served as a member of the President’s Council of Purdue University and was a life member of the Purdue Alumni Association. He was a licensed professional engineer in the State of Indiana.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater of Operations under General George Patton (U.S. 3rd Army-Infantry). He was awarded the Purple Heart for his role in the Battle of Metz, France.
He started his career in 1950 with Euclid Crane Co. and later moving to Allentown in 1955 as its regional sales manager. In 1968 he founded E.T. Saba Associates, Inc. He maintained offices in Baltimore and Philadelphia with headquarters in Allentown, retiring in 2012. He was a life member of the Association of Iron and Steel Engineers, and a member of the IEEE and the ISRI industrial trade organizations.
A member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, Allentown, he was a principal benefactor in the construction of the church, a contributor to the welfare of the church over six decades; served a term on its board as a financial advisor and analyst. He was a baseball coach for Allentown’s West End Youth Center in the 1960s, the H.L. Peter Post and Downtown Youth Center American Legion teams of the early 1970s.
He was the oldest active member of Brookside Country Club for over 50 years.
A 32nd Degree Mason, he was a member of Jordan-Martin Masonic Lodge #673 F&AM and the Valley of Allentown Scottish Rite Lodge Council Chapter Consistory.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Gary T. and his wife Nadia P., of Allentown, Gregory D. and his wife Maria, of Allentown; daughter, Lynne and her husband Jeffrey Dean, of West Chester; brother, Robert A., of Mayfield Heights, Ohio; grandchildren, David, Meredith, Paul, Brent, Andrew, Allison, Michael; great-grandchild, Anya.

Services will be held 11 a.m. April 7 at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. Call 7 to 8:30 p.m. April 6 at the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th and Hamilton streets., Allentown. A Masonic service will be 7:15 p.m. April 6 at the funeral home.
