April marks the end of the third marking period, as well as the beginning of the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment’s for many of the Salisbury School District students. Please ensure your students get plenty of rest and a decent breakfast on testing days to help them do their best.
The Harry S Truman Elementary School PTO will hold a candy bingo event 6:30 to 8 p.m. April 7 in the school cafeteria. There is no admission fee to play. Come out for a fun evening with your friends. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
The HST first grade invitation to lunch will be held April 10. If you have a first grader, look for information to be sent home regarding lunch choices and times.
April 12 will be a 12:15 p.m. dismissal for Salisbury Middle School and Salisbury High School only. All township schools will now be in session April 13 as a snow make-up day. SMS and SHS will dismiss 12:15 p.m. and HST and Western Salisbury Elementary School will dismiss 1 p.m.
April 13 is a T-shirt day. Students are encouraged to show their school spirit by wearing their school shirts.
All township schools will be closed April 14 and 17. Schools will resume classes April 18.
There will be a school board meeting 7:30 p.m. April 19 in the administration building.
Math PSSA’s will resume the week of April 24.
Looking ahead, HST will begin serving breakfast 8:30 to 8:45 a.m. May 1 through the end of the school year. This is a cold breakfast which may include cereal, cereal bar, granola bar, yogurt, fruit, juice and milk. There will not be a published menu. The Salisbury Athletic Booster Club is selling navy blue hats and magnets. The hats, both fitted and adjustable, may be purchased at the outside SHS concession stand when open or by emailing cpennella@salisburysd.org.
Magnets can be purchased at the SHS athletic office, SHS outside concession stand, the SMS/Western/Truman main offices and at the school district administration building.
The Franko Farm yard waste drop off site will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 8 and 11.
