Perry Edwin Woodring

Perry Edwin Woodring, 70, of Whitehall, died March 26, 2017, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He and his wife Doris H. (Kuhns) Woodring were married 25 years last Nov. 16.

Born Jan. 25, 1947, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Edwin H.M. and Marion P. (Williams) Woodring.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era, stationed in Germany, with a rank of SP5.

He was a telephone splicer with Verizon, Allentown, for 33 years before retiring in 2001.

He was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of Cedar Union Church, Cetronia, South Whitehall.

Since his formal retirement, he enjoyed working with wood, creating unique and unusual works of art.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Michael Edwin and his wife, Lauree, of Cockeysville, Md.; daughter Tammy Marion Turner and her husband, Jonathan, of Palmetto, Ga.; stepdaughter Kimberly D. Bacon of San Diego, Calif.; grandchildren Rainn and Maximillian Woodring; and former wife Mary J. (Eisenhard) Fillman of Allentown.
