Joan E. Solt, 81, formerly of Macungie, died April 3, 2017 at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, South Whitehall.

She was the wife of the late Richard W. Solt.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Ethel (Lichtenwalner) Knauss.

Before retiring, she worked in customer service for Aetna Insurance and most recently in the jewelry department at Kohl’s.

She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Trexlertown.

She loved going to the beach and being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her survivors include a son Richard Shurgalla and his wife, Sharon, of State College; daughters Donna Conway of Macungie, Debra Figueroa and her husband, Jose, of Bethlehem; daughter-in-law Karen Shurgalla; stepdaughters Cheryl Crammer and her husband, Jeff, of Whitehall, Bonnie Prunty and her husband, Dave, of Freeville, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She had a sister, Betty, and was predeceased by a son, Robert.

Her memorial service will be 11 a.m. April 7 at St. Paul’s UCC, 1249 Trexlertown Road, Trexlertown. Calling hour will begin 10 a.m.
